CincyTech 2015: This Is Who We Are
All We Are Photography
The Volunteer Initiative
For my senior capstone project, I had the idea to raise awareness, as well as inspire young adults to volunteer. Looking at Cincinnati, the volunteerism rate has been dropping in the last ten years, and the younger generation is part of the reason why. The Volunteer Initiative is a way to spread the word about volunteerism, and giving back to the community.

All We Are
All We Are is a non-profit organization founded by a good friend of mine named Nathan Thomas. He came to me last year, asking me to be apart of the team as a creative director. I was eager to take the position, and since then it has been my job to create an entire branding set to be use throughout All We Are's site, campaigns, and swag. All We Are has a mission to improve the quality of life for people in less fortunate parts of the world. With projects including solar powered lights in schools, water tanks for villages, and even collecting used soccer gear for kids in Uganda.

As Northern Kentucky University transitions from Division I to Division II school, university administrators saw the need to increase promotion of the school and enhance its public image. They hired Bright Light Video Productions, a Cincinnati-based video production and storytelling company, to create commercials for both the university as a whole and for its athletic department specifically as it enters NCAA competition.
During my coop as a full-time designer and editor in fall 2014, I was the lead editor for the Northern Kentucky University spot and worked as a production grip and camera assistant during on-location shoots.

For this class project, the task was to take multiple letterforms and turn them into a composition that reflected the overall tone of the font. I went beyond the assignment and created my own font. I then incorporated my font and the multiple letterforms into a poster with an edgy, sharp and decisive style that I call Munich.
For This Project, our goal was to recreate a current magazine's layout and style. I chose RollingStone Magazine because I have always found their articles to appear boring and text heavy on the pages. My solution was to breakup the text, and allow it to flow more fluidly on the pages. The final product had to be useful in a printed magazine as well as a digital IPad layout.
In an interdisciplinary class at the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP school, graphics, fashion, and industrial designers combine to create a product, in this case an eyewear line. The group worked together to design concepts, create mock ups and develop the brand. We called our brand Alton that we aimed at an active lifestyle customer following the rising trend of sports and fitness fashions like lululemon. The final presentation included our research, the entire brand story and prototyped products. In addition to actively participating in the research, brand development and product ideation, my main role was to design the company logo and visually tell the brand story depicted in the video.

Our class assignment was to create a kinetic infographic on a subject of our choosing. Being the free thinker, I chose to enlighten my audience on the majestic Loch Ness Monster. In the composition, you will not only see creative and whimsical use of kinetic infographics to tell Nessie’s story, but you also will learn some little-known facts that may well make a believer of the monster’s existence.

Empathic Movie Trailers
The SEEK Company, a consumer marketing and innovation consulting firm in Cincinnati, sets itself apart from the competition by delivering innovation using empathic insights and creativity to connect brands to their consumers.
During my two coop stints as a full-time designer in editor freelance, I oversaw all video and motion graphics projects as well as organized production and design processes.
The Empathic Movie Trailer Series, produced by SEEK, is intended to evoke emotions and use visual metaphors to illustrate who the consumer is and the insight developed around that consumer. I compiled the footage, created the effects, selected the music and edited the pieces for the series.
Damaged Goods depicts the feeling of being vulnerable and broken because of an affliction, but concludes with the positive sense of overcoming and conquering the challenge.
A Clearer Path connotes the sense of being stuck in a routine, stuck in a rut of industrialism, mechanical and exhausting tasks with the reward being release and freedom of finding one's own path and ultimate destiny.
Flight Delay visually describes waiting and anticipating of wanting to fly, to break away, but being held back by others or by one’s own fear, finally breaking away or being released to freedom.

A Rhythmic Observation
The class assignment was simply for our student group to create a video focusing on a moment in life. After brainstorming, we elected to film the fidgeting of each individual in our group and combining it into a rhythmic symphony. The end result is a musical and fidgitriffic (a word of my own creation) piece.
A Rhythmic Observation
For this class motion project, the goal was simple: create a short video to creatively reveal your name. I created a mark and built my composition around it, incorporating a rich color scheme for the final product.

For this class project, I made a short 3D clip of my logo mark, created in Cinema 4D. This may not be the final product but is an illustration of 3D animation.
